Country house arrangements

As the country house hotel by the sea, The Nare strives to uphold the highest standards of comfort. Here are a few notes to help you plan your visit and make the most of a very special experience.

How to reach The Nare

It is recommended that guests make use of The Nare's map and directions to make their journey as straightforward as possible. Although you must navigate a few Cornish lanes to reach the hotel, these directions will help you steer clear of the narrowest. Please follow the brown signs from Tregony (five miles inland), ignoring the sat nav if necessary.

The Nare chauffeur service

The Nare's unique chauffeur service is available to guests anywhere in the country, whether that is your home address, an airport or another hotel. It allows for comfortable, convenient travel directly to the hotel in either of the two comfortable Range Rovers or the larger Mercedes.

The chauffeur service is usually quoted as an inclusive Quintessential Country House rate and arranged by appointment at the time of booking. Daily excursions to explore the beautiful Cornish countryside, gardens and attractions are also available. Rates for these excursions are £250 for a half day and £380 for a full day.

Dress code

The Nare combines classic country house charm with a friendly, relaxed approach. In the evening, you will find that many guests choose to dress up for dinner, treating it as part of the occasion and enjoyment of their stay.

That said, there is no dress code and no expectation to wear anything specific. We mention this only as a helpful indication of the style and atmosphere enjoyed by many of our guests, so you can choose what feels right for you.

Children's dining arrangements

At The Nare, dining is designed to be enjoyed by guests of every generation. Families, children and adults can all look forward to a relaxed and welcoming experience, with menus and dining times tailored to different tastes and routines. Younger diners can enjoy dishes created with smaller appetites in mind, while adults may prefer to savour a more refined evening meal at a later hour.

Boat charters

Both private charters and scheduled sailings (shared with other guests) may be booked on Alice Rose, The Nare's traditional 38-foot motor launch.

Choose the hotel's private charter service, and you will enjoy your own boat for the day. This includes lunch, transfers and the services of a coxswain and chief steward. Private charters start from £800 per day and can accommodate up to 10 guests (£960).

Sailings take place during the warmer months, from the beginning of April to the end of September (weather permitting).
